Nikki Fitness mocks innocent gymgoer in viral TikTok

Nikki Montesanti, a fitness TikTok creator with the username @nikkii_fitness, recently reacted to a gym-based video that unintentionally captured someone in the background of the clip working out.

The individual was shown performing a drag curl, a motion that helps strengthen the bicep muscles.

Clearly unfamiliar with the exercise, Nikki Fitness used the greenscreen TikTok filter to point at and mock the workout routine as she sneeringly asked:

“What do you think he’s doing? What do you think he’s working? I don’t know either.”

Social media backlash sparked

In response to her ridiculing remarks, Nikki Fitness received a lot of backlash on the short-form video platform and has now deleted the original upload.

A TikToker named Alia Jess suggested that Nikki’s behaviour is “one of the many reasons people are afraid to step foot in gyms,” stating that people can’t be sure that they won’t be blasted on social media without consent.

@aliajess also contradicted the mocking comments and confirmed that the individual in the video was performing a perfectly legitimate strength training move, a drag curl.

Another fitness enthusiast TikTok user named Brad (@braddrss) stated that while it is completely fine for Nikki to be unaware of the exercise, she had no need to comment on and shame the person.

The health coach apologises online

Following her viral video which blew up for the wrong reasons, @nikkii_fitness took to TikTok and Instagram to apologise.

Nikki Montesanti stated that “as a health coach and a mental health advocate,” she understands how the content was irrelevant to her page and completely pointless for her role in the fitness community.

The creator thanked her viewers for the constructive criticism and explained that she is now inspired to make better choices:

“I’m here to apologise, I’m here to take accountability and I’m here to let you know that I promise, from here on out, in the future, I will do nothing but serve you in the way that you need to be served.”
